Eat Your Feelings
Developed in dialogue with Katarina Jazbec’s film Speaking in Nettle Hairs (shot on location), this botanical foodscape helped us celebrate Summer Solstice through local ecology, foraging, and collective cooking. The menu highlighted foraged and fermented goods based on the nettle plant, including a bespoke fermented nettle wine crafted by Jack Bradwell with plants collected from the Rotte area. The table design incorporated botanical elements picked directly from Essenburg Park. Through shared preparation, the project functioned as a living tribute to local flora, a chance for sonic exploration through a tailored sound walk and a moment of connection through a midsummer music ritual, all in anticipation of the film screening that inspired the event.
