Rotterdam series Sounding Here and Eat Your Feelings met under one roof for exciting exchanges between artists and audience, inviting musicians in 3 distinct gatherings, meant to connect the worlds of food and music in a playful way. Exploring the notion of sound and its multiple dimensions by adding taste and prompting exchanges, EYF was looking to create a bridge between the senses by translating the different musical perspectives into snacks that are imagined, packaged and served in playful ways, inviting the audience to further connect and also immerse themselves in the performance. This crossover between disciplines offered an excellent opportunity to dive deeper into a recurring fascination for the complexity of sound and its relation to a palpable medium - food. Sounding Here (SH) is a space for music to be in dialogue with the world around us. After more than 25 events in The Netherlands, Christine Cornwell has cooperated with diverse local and international acts who are interested in bringing their artistic questions to a musical podium. SH welcomes audiences to experience a close encounter with 3 acts during each event and combines this with space for audiences to share their responses during the evening. After noticing themes which happen in these unusual combinations of acts, SH has started to invite cooperations with specific themes or concepts to create new dialogues and continue to combine music with questions in the world. photos: KKatarina Jazbec
